Clinical history

This patient with a fractured elbow was referred for an upper extremity scan post surgery (for insertion of pins). The technologist used the IQon Spectral CT system to perform the scan.

Clinical significance

The IQon Spectral CT uncovers obscured pathology through improved visualization and assessment of tissue in proximity to metal implants. The ability to utilize a high MonoE eliminates beam hardening artifacts and can reduce concealed pathologies.
