DTI examination of Stroke

Patient history:

55-year-old male complained of sudden onset of left side weakness.

FLAIR and diffusion-weighted images show acute infarction in right basal ganglia.

Fiber tractography clearly shows the relationship between the infarction and corticospinal tract. The lesion is anterior to the course of the corticospinal tract (arrow).


The patient experienced complete recovery of motor function.
