Patient history:

A six-year-old male with Kawasaki disease underwent an MR examination at Children's Hospital Boston.

MR examination:

Images:

 

(A) ECG and respiratory-navigated gated, free-breathing B-TFE coronary MRA shows aneurysms of the left main and left anterior descending (LAD) coronary arteries (arrows) with a maximal diameter of 10.3 mm. Severe stenosis of the mid-LAD was noted.

 

Images in the long-axial oblique (B) and short-axis (C) planes show myocardial infarction (arrow) of the anterior septum extending to the apex.

Diagnosis:

A giant aneurysm of the left coronary artery was demonstrated in a six-year-old male with Kawasaki disease.
