SmartBreast exam with the dS Breast 16ch coil

Case Study
Ruplin, Barbara, R.T. WellStar Health System • USA

Patient history

A 57-year-old female with a new diagnosis of breast cancer underwent an examination with the Ingenia 3.0T at the Wellstar Health System, Marietta, GA, USA

MR examination

The patient was imaged on Ingenia 3.0T. The 70 cm bore supports patient comfort. The dS Breast 16ch coil has been designed for high spatial and temporal resolution with coverage deep into the axillae region.

SmartBreast is used for consistent fat suppression due to patient-adaptive shimming method. MultiTransmit adapts the RF transmission signals to the size and shape of each individual patient

Diagnosis

Breast cander. The sample obtained by US biopsy was Invasive Ductal Ca, grade 3.

Impact of using Ingenia 3.0T with the dS Breast 16ch coil

  • The dS Breast 16ch coil achieves high SNR and high resolution breast imaging.

  • The images demonstrate homogenous fat suppression and signal intensity due
to using SmartExam breast and MultiTransmit.

  • T1 perfusion performed on the IntelliSpace Portal.

  • Using the ISP thin client solution T1 analysis package it becomes easy to analyze
lesion uptake curves and review the lesion.

  • Color parametric maps can be generated automatically.
