Upgrade to Achieva: new functionality and enhanced workflow

Clinical News
MRI NetForum Team Philips Healthcare Philips Global

Intera users who upgrade to Achieva performance quickly realize substantial gains in scanning and processing speed, in addition to powerful new functionality and state-of-the-art imaging performance, with up to seven advanced imaging packages. Achievaãs ScanForum user interface also significantly streamlines operation by providing a complete scanning and viewing environment that includes ExamCards ¹ entire clinical studies that users can select with single-touch convenience. For example, users can specify ¶Angio Study÷ and a complete exam ¹ including BolusTrak planning and scan protocols ¹ is instantly executable. In addition to reducing exam time, ExamCards enable easy, on-line protocol sharing among users via NetForum.

Achieva functionality streamlines total body imaging, peripheral MRA in Trier

Achieva facilitates whole body imaging through MobiScan and ExamCards. ¶Before the Achieva upgrade, if we wanted to obtain three different contrasts covering the whole body, we had to execute three table movements,÷ says Prof. Hans-Peter Busch, Head of Radiology at Br│derkrankenhaus, Trier, Germany. ¶MobiScan provides a virtually unlimited field-of-view, with three contrast sequences in a single scan ¹ just one table movement ¹ and the total examination can be done with one ExamCard. The result is a quicker, more comfortable scan for the patient and an examination with high diagnostic value in a single study.÷

¶MobiFlex improves upon MobiTrak by allowing us to modify parameters per station ¹ increasing the number of slices, matrix size and pixel size and volume in the lower leg station, for example, where resolution is most important,÷ Prof. Busch says. ¶Similarly, SENSE enables us to speed up the first two stations to track the bolus more effectively, thereby decreasing the chance of venous contamination.÷

NetForum brings immediacy of Internet to MR department

NetForum provides many web-enabled capabilities that enhance efficiency. Achievaãs Windows XP operating system permits web functionality, Remote View and Remote Assistance services, and Internet-based exchange of ExamCards, so clinicians can download the latest clinical imaging protocols and use them on their own system. This enables any NetForum equipped site to share in the clinical developments pioneered by the Philips MR User Networks.
