Patient preparation

1 hour prior to the examination the patient has to drink a non-absorbable oral contrast agent for improving the bowel distension.

At the beginning and/or during the exam an anti-peristaltic agent is administered to the patient. Purpose is to slow down bowel peristalsis and decrease resultant motion artifacts.

The patient is positioned supine and head first. The SENSE XL Torso coil is used.
The respiratory sensor is needed for the breath hold and respiratory triggered sequences in the ExamCard.

Contrast agent / injection protocol

Gadolinium (Gd) based contrast agent is used. Please refer to the label for more information.
