ExamCard purpose

This release 2.6 Achieva 1.5T ExamCard was created by the London Chest Hospital to image the heart wall for myocarditis.

ExamCard overview


The 32-channel SENSE Torso/Cardiac coil was used together with the Philips docking table and ECG triggering.
 
Transverse BB breath-hold scan covering the whole heart and aortic arch for morphology.

SSFP breath-hold cines in the 4-chamber, 2-chamber and short axis orientations are to assess function. Acquired voxel size 1.8 mm x 1.8 mm x 8 mm.

T2-weighted BB with fat supression (STIR), acquires 3 slices in the short axis orientation and one slice in the 4-chamber and 2-chamber orientations. Acquired voxel size 2 mm x 2 mm x 8 mm.

2D scar, early enhancement in the 2-chamber and 4-chamber orientations are for clot and thrombus visualisation.

2D scar, late enhancement in the 2-chamber, 4-chamber and short axis multi-slice orientations are for scar visualisation.
