ExamCard purpose

This release 2.5.3 ExamCard contains a 3D B-FFE scan optimized for high resolution (0.36 x 0.36 x 1.00 mm) and high contrast to see sub-millimeter structures within the brain. The scan time of this scan is 4:29 minutes.

Plan this protocol in sagittal orientation to produce a high contrast and high resolution series of images for visualization of small structures.

A volume shim box is placed around these slices for improved image quality.

 

If the scan opens with a conflict on your system configuration, setting water fat shift to minimum can resolve this.

3D protocol is 0.36 x 0.36 x 1.00 mm.

Patient preparation

Pediatric patients are often sedated, but this is not a requirement for this protocol.

The 6-channel Brain coil is used.

Post-processing

This 3D sequence may be reconstructed with MPR into coronal or axial planes as needed.
