This Release 12 Intera 1.5T ExamCard provides routine dynamic liver currently used at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. This ExamCard is designed for use with the 4 channel SENSE Body coil and incorporates a modified THRIVE sequence that provides image quality similar to e-THRIVE implementation.
This ExamCard is used for the visualization of liver abnormalities.
 T2 SSH Coronal and Transverse
Dual Echo and T2 SPIR RT
 DWI b values 0, 20 and 500
Dynamic THRIVE Dynamic modified THRIVE axial and coronal
Patient placed into hospital approved clothing. A twenty (20) gauge peripheral IV placed prior to patient being positioned on imaging table. SENSE Body (4 CH) coil is placed appropriately for liver imaging and respiratory triggering pillow is localized over the respiratory center. Ear plugs and ear phones given to patient for proper hearing protection as well as ease in communicating breathing instructions to the patient.
Contrast dose is administered per hospital protocol via power injector through patient peripheral IV. BolusTrak timing is performed after initial pre-contrast THRIVE is complete. BolusTrak sequence in coronal plane is started and allowed to run while contrast injection is administered. Arterial phase of THRIVE is initiated when contrast bolus has reached the level of the aortic bifurcation in the pelvis. Upon completion of arterial phase, subsequent phases may be performed, including venous and delayed phases of post-contrast imaging.
In-line post processing of ADC maps for both the b20 and b500 DWI imaging are added to the ExamCard.
