ExamCard purpose

This sequence is used as a part of a Knee ExamCard to visualize horizontal, circular and radial tears of middle and lateral menisci in one step.

Patient preparation

Position the patient feet first in the 6- or 8-channel SENSE Knee coil. Alternatively the SENSE Flex-M coil can be used. Use the leg support or a cushion to support the lower leg.

Post-processing / analysis:

A radial MPR should be created for each of the lateral and medial meniscus using the VolumeView package with a reconstruction thickness of 2 to 3 slices.

 

The following is an example of a reconstruction of the medial meniscus. 15 coronal projections, radial axis FH. Reconstructed slice thickness: 3 slices or 1.8 mm.
