Features used in this ExamCard

Grouping of scan step 5 - 7 is used to make sure that all sequences of the group are planned before acquisition of the group can be started. Additionally, the CE-MRA scan including preparation and fluoroscopy are now treated as one entity. The first dynamic of CE-MRA acquires the preparation phases only (defined within the edit goup enviroment by dynamic 0). By doing so, the delay time between the 2D Bolustrak and the actual acquisition of the s3D_CE_COW is minimized. A pause is added to the ExamCard, to allow all preparations required for contrast injection.

Injection protocol

  • 2.0 ml/s 20 ml Gado 0.5M
  • 1.0 ml/s 40 ml NaCl

Workflow

  • Before scanning of the CE-COW, both s3D_CE_COW and 2D_bolustrak have to be planned. 2D_bolustrak will be positioned lower to cover the carotid arteries. The maximum allowed difference in distance is 15 cm.

  • Open the "Autoview" window and press start scan to start the entire group. Autoview will show the arrival of the injected contrast bolus in real-time.

  • Preparation of 3D_CE_COW is performed. If preparation is completed, a pop-up will appear: "allow table movement". Table movement should NOT be allowed, as this will increase the delay time after the fluoroscopic scan. By choosing "No", the 2D_bolustrak scan will be acquired off-centre.

  • Start the contrast injection simultaneously or after the execution of the 2D_bolustrak scan. Another pop-up will appear to proceed to the 3D scan (fast next scan. Either use the mouse to proceed or use the enter button (Make sure that the window is active)

  • Use the arrival of contrast in the carotid arteries as trigger points, click "proceed" in the pop -up.
