ExamCard description

This Release 5.1.7 ExamCard has been created on Multiva 1.5T by the Bay-Tuna Radiology Center at the Beyhekim Devlet (MOH) Hospital in Konya, to gain good image quality for sacroiliac joint imaging, before and after contrast injection.

 

Acceptable scan times for routine imaging are reached by using a SENSE factor of 2.0 in most scans. A manual start has been set at the T1W_TSE_+C coronal scan to enable contrast administration. The SmartLine ImageAlgebra subtraction step on the T1W_TSE_+C coronal scan automatically subtracts the pre-contrast scan from the corresponding post-contrast scan. The newly generated image series shows contrast enhancement, where present.

Patient positioning and coil use

The patient is positioned head first, supine on the TotalSpine-16 coil. The Torso-16 coil is positioned on the lower abdomen/pelvis for increased SNR and AP coverage.

Contrast agent / injection protocol

Refer to the contrast agent manufacturer for information on dose and indications for use. 

Postprocessing

An ImageAlgebra, subtraction SmartLine, postprocessing step is added to the T1W_TSE_+C coronal scan. In this SmartLine step, the non contrast T1W_TSE_ coronal scan is automatically subtracted from the T1W_TSE_+C coronal scan resulting in a new image series.
