ExamCard description

This ExamCard was created for imaging the shoulder with motion artifact reduction using MultiVane.

The ExamCard contains MultiVane scans of different weightings and orientations. It was developed to reduce motion artifacts in the shoulder area. Artifacts due to patient motion are reduced compared to standard TSE scans.

The ExamCard was created on a Multiva 1.5T system on release 5.1.7 at the Centro Medico Ospidaliero Nuovo Robbiani, Soresina, Italy, in cooperation with Dr. Salvatore Sgroi (radiologist) and Ignazio Maltese (radiographer).

Patient positioning and coil use

The patient is positioned head first and supine in the Shoulder 8ch coil. For patient comfort and improved image quality it is recommended to rotate the patients upper body a little by lifting the contralateral shoulder upwards. Support this position by placing wedges or pads delivered with your MR system under the contralateral shoulder.
