Clinical history

This 63 year-old male with a history of lung cancer was referred for a Tc-99m MDP bone scan to assess for bony metastases. The scan was performed on the BrightView XCT.

Diagnosis

The SPECT/CT showed calcification of the left tibial-fibular ligament.

Physician's impression of SPECT/CT

SPECT/CT helped to precisely identify post-traumatic calcification of a ligament as etiology of activity on the bone scan. Fracture and/or metastasis was ruled out.
