USA MR Road Show - Trends in MRI

Clinical News
MRI NetForum Team Philips Healthcare Philips Global

This year, MR trends and technologies are on display across the USA. A ten city MR Road Show is showcasing some of the most innovative advances in 3.0T MR, high-field open MR and workflow efficiency.

Over fifty San Francisco Bay area customers gathered at the Westin St. Francis Hotel on March 21st to get a first-hand look. They were treated to presentations by Dr. William W. Orrison and Dr. Amaar M. Malik of Nevada Imaging Centers who discussed the clinical application and market advantages of the Achieva 3.0T and the Panorama 1.0T.

With both systems in place at their Las Vegas facilities, Orrison and Malik feel they are prepared to meet any clinical challenge that comes their way. In addition, the systems help Nevada Imaging Centers differentiate itself in the highly competitive Las Vegas Market, a must for attracting patient referrals.

Live SmartExam demonstration

Another event highlight was a live SmartExam demonstration from Philips' factory in the Netherlands. "SmartExam really wowed the crowd." said Michael Rodgers, Director of MR Marketing. The power of SmartExam was evident as customers saw in real-time how automatic planning, scanning and post processing can impact their practice. "Our team in Best did a fantastic job of demonstrating how this new technology delivers consistent image quality and boosts operator efficiency - all with a single mouse click. When physicians and technicians saw it for themselves, they came away impressed."

Philips believes that peer to peer discussion is the primary catalyst for the adoption of new technologies. The MR road show is intended to spark this kind of dialogue. To learn more about the MR Road Show, please visit
