ACR bandwidth calculator

When completing the ACR MRI Phantom Site Scanning Data Form, you are asked to provide the routine receive bandwidth (kHz) for requested sequences.


The provided excel spreadsheet calculators will convert Philips water-fat-shift/bandwidth to ACR bandwidth in kHz.

 
 
Tip 1.    Philips to ACR Bandwidth Calculator 
             for use with Philips software versions with WFS and BW (Hz)

1. Download the calculator below to help you calculate the ACR routine receive bandwidth (kHz) on the ACR MRI Phantom Site Scanning Data Form
(Fig. 1).

2. The needed information can be found on the Philips parameter Information page (Fig. 2). Underlined in red are:

    Acquired Measurement Matrix (ACQ matrix M x P) and
    Water Fat Shift/ Bandwidth (WFS/BW Hz)

3. Enter BW and Measurement Matrix from the Info page into the calculator;
Then press the  = button on the calculator (Fig. 3).

4. Enter the result into ACR MRI Phantom Site Scanning Data Form, ACR routine receive bandwidth (kHz), column K.



Equation:

ACR BandWidth (kHz) = Philips BW (Hz) x ACQ Measurement Matrix/1000Hz

Example:
ACR BW (kHz) = 152.8 x 384/1000 = 58.7 kHz

Tip 2.    Philips to ACR Bandwidth Calculator 
             for use with Philips software versions with WFS but no BW (Hz)


1. Download the calculator below to help you calculate the ACR routine receive bandwidth (kHz) on the ACR MRI Phantom Site Scanning Data Form
(Fig.4).

2. The needed information found on Philips parameter Information Page (Fig. 5).
Underlined in red are:

    Acquired Measurement Matrix (ACQ matrix M x P) and 
    Water-Fat-Shift (WFS)


3. Left click on the Freq Diff button, match the magnetic field strength to the appropriate Frequency Difference.  
Next, left click on the down arrow and choose the appropriate Frequency Difference (Fig. 6)


4. Left click on the Measurement Matrix button and enter the measurement matrix from the Info Page.


5. Left click on the WFS button and enter the water-fat-shift from the Info Page; press = button on calculator.


6. Enter result into ACR MRI Phantom Site Scanning Data Form, ACR routine receive bandwidth (kHz), column K.


Equation:

ACR BandWidth (kHz) = Freq Diff Water-Fat/Water-Fat-Shift x ACQ Measurement Matrix/1000Hz

Examples:
3.0T  BW(kHz) = 434.6/2.5*256/1000 = 44.5
1.5T  BW(kHz) = 217.3/2.5*256/1000 = 22.3
1.0T  BW(kHz) = 144.8/2.5*256/1000 = 14.8
0.6T  BW(kHz) = 86.9/2.5*256/1000 =    8.9
0.5T  BW(kHz) = 72.4/2.5*256/1000 =    7.4
0.23T  BW(kHz) = 33.3/2.5*256/1000 =  3.4
