ExamCard purpose

This release 2.6.1 ExamCard for Achieva 1.5T is optimized for bilateral imaging of the Posterior Triangle. Its coverage is from shoulder to shoulder with a FOV of 400 mm and it still keeps a good temporal en spatial resolution. This ExamCard contains coronal, sagittal and tranverse sequences.

Patient preparation

Position the patient supine in the SENSE NeuroVascular 16 (or SENSE NeuroVascular 8 coil).

The shoulders must be tight against the coil and the shoulders should be relaxed, this is especially important when using fat suppression.

Posterior Triangle

Red: Posterior Triangle; <br>Yellow: FOV bilateral Posterior Triangle The posterior triangle is the triangle between the neck and shoulder and contains many anatomies such as nerves, vessels, lymph nodes and muscles. All the sequences are optimized for imaging the posterior triangle with a large FOV. This makes it possible to compare both sides.
Red: Posterior Triangle;
Yellow: FOV bilateral Posterior Triangle
The posterior triangle is the triangle between the neck and shoulder and contains many anatomies such as nerves, vessels, lymph nodes and muscles. All the sequences are optimized for imaging the posterior triangle with a large FOV. This makes it possible to compare both sides.

Fat Suppression

Sagittal: A rectangular shim volume, only in the neck, gives the most homogeneous fat suppression.

 

Coronal: A small square shim volume at the head-neck junction gives the most homogeneous fat suppression. It has to be placed half in the thorax and half in the neck. Don't include to much lung.
