ExamCard purpose:

This ExamCard for a comprehensive abdomen examination includes MRCP and a dynamic liver scan. It was developed on Achieva 1.5T at R2.6.3. This ExamCard makes use of navigator respiratory compensation.

Patient preparation

For clear MRCP images, the patient needs to abstain from eating and drinking for 6 hours prior to examination. This is to avoid fluid in the duodenum, which may obscure the billiary ducts at the connection of the common bile duct to the duodenum.

Contrast agent / injection protocol

Injector pump used.

Gadolinium contrast agent at 2 ml/sec. followed by a saline chaser, 40 ml at 2 ml/sec.

Post-processing / analysis

Subtraction is possible in the advanced viewer.

It is also possible to do enhancement curves across the dynamics.
