Planning for Q-flow of SMA and SMV

Note: Q- flow of SMA and SMV is done twice, once while fasting and again 20-30 minutes after a fatty meal.

 

1. Q-flow for Superior Mesenteric Artery: Velocity encoding should be 150 cm/sec.

2. Q-flow for Superior Mesenteric Vein: Velocity encoding should be 40 cm/sec.

For calculating mean flux the ROI should include the vessel wall.

For calculating mean velocity ROI should be within the lumen.
