ExamCard description

In this optimized dynamic THRIVE protocol, TFE turbo direction 'Y' is used instead of 'radial'.

When TFE turbo direction is 'radial', the acquisition of the contrast (=central) area of k-space is spread over the whole acquisition time and thus averaged out over the whole acquisition time. When selecting TFE turbo direction 'Y', the acquisition of the contrast area of k-space is done at half of the dynamic scan time, which improves contrast in the dynamic series. Because TFE turbo direction 'Y' fills k-space linearly in the KyKz direction (instead of radial) the resulting images are also sharper.

Release 2.5 ExamCards can be downloaded for Achieva 3.0T, Achieva 1.5T and Panorama HFO.

Note that the ExamCards contain both the optimized dynamic THRIVE sequence and an optimized dynamic T1w 3D TFE (non-fat-suppressed) sequence.
