ExamCard purpose

This release 2 Achieva 3.0T ExamCard is designed for brain studies.

ExamCard overview

 

The T1 TFE scan is a 3D aquisition with a voxel size of 0.88x1.1x4 mm. Scan time is 1:23 min.

 

The T2optSNR scan is a TSE sequence that has a voxel size of 0.6x0.75x4 mm. It is scanned in 2 packages with a scan time of 2:48 min.

 

The DWI Sns3 N2 scan is a single shot SE EPI isotropic diffusion-weighted scan with a voxel size of 2.0x2.5x2.5 mm and a scan time of 0.55 min.

 

The FLAIRmslice3D has isotropic voxels of 1.3 mm, which is acquired in 5 packages with a scan time 7:30 min.

 

The SshTE18 scan is a T2* dynamic acquisition with 50 dynamics and a time resolution of 1.1 sec.

 

The high resolution s3DT1TFE scan can be used post-contrast injection. The voxel size is 0.88x1.1x1.00 mm.

The advantage of using 3D acquisition is that it allows accurate volume measurement of lesions as well as a precise anatomical location.

 

Patient preparation

The 8-channel SENSE Head coil is used. The patient is provided with soft ear plugs and foam cushions are positioned to avoid head movement.

Post-processing / analysis

MPR of T1 and FLAIR multislice with isotropic voxels acquisitions.
