ExamCard purpose

This ExamCard contains 3D Brain sequences for morphometry. It includes T1W, T1W FA, T2W and DTI and was created on an Achieva 1.5T on Release 3.2.3. It may also be used on a Ingenia 1.5T, Ingenia 1.5T CX or Ingenia 1.5T S system with a higher release. Note, due to a different gradient configuration and/or software option available, scans may conflict when loaded on to your system.

 

The sequences were adjusted to accommodate for radiologists and neurologists wanting to make additional measurements and analysis on the data of patients with a certain disease. The 3D sequences of this ExamCard provide the possibility; for detailed visualization; to perform measurements; and DTI postprocessing.

 

This ExamCard makes use of a 5 min. or 12 min. T2 3D VISTA protocol to suit different preferences.

Patient preparation

Prepare the patient as for a routine brain examination including the safety questionaire and removal of all metal objects. Position the patient head first, supine in the SENSE Head 6ch coil providing hearing protection and the nurse call.

Postprocessing/analysis

On the DTI scan, diffusion registration and fiber tracking can be performed, on the Philips MRI system with input given by the neurologist or radiologist.
