ExamCard description

This ExamCard contains Diffusion TSE scans for the IAM (Internal Acoustic Meatus) in transverse and coronal orientations. The transverse DWI_TSE scan is suitable for multiplanar reconstructions (MPR). The ExamCard was created on an Achieva 1.5T system on Release 3.2.3.2

Patient preparation

Prepare the patient as for a routine brain examination (supine position) including the safety questionaire and removal of all metal objects. Provide the patient with hearing protection and the nurse call.

This ExamCard makes use of the SENSE Head 6ch coil.

Postprocessing/analysis

From the transverse DWI_TSE scan multiplanar reconstructions (MPRs) can be reconstructed in coronal and sagittal planes. As the voxels of the original scan are not isotropic, the MPRs may show a resolution loss compared to the original scan plane.

Additional information

The coronal DWI_TSE scan has been added to accomodate for the reduced resolution and coverage of the MPRs and for radiologists who prefer to review the IAC region in this plane with an improved in-plane resolution.
