ExamCard purpose

This release 2.1 Panorama HFO ExamCard provides a collection of protocols for elbow imaging. The protocols are optimized for use with the ST Extremity coil using SENSE and are arranged according to image contrast.

 

SENSE is used to obtain higher resolution with scan times of approximately 5 minutes per protocol. The coil loops are positioned in a perpendicular fashion (see photos below), which enables SENSE to be used in all directions.

Patient positioning

The objective is to position the coil loops very carefully perpendicular to each other. Position the first coil loop around the elbow over the joint, with the handle under the elbow. The second coil loop should then be placed close to the side of the elbow inside the first loop, with the handle on the top (see the photo below). 

 

Another option is to position the coils perpendicular to each other first and then place the elbow  in the middle as much as possible.

 

Use sand bags to stabilize the coil and for patient comfort.

 

Make sure that the coil cables do not create any loops and that there is no skin contact with any part of the coil.
