ExamCard description

This ExamCard was created for the soft tissue imaging of the neck with motion artifact reduction using MultiVane. The dS HeadSpine coil and dS Torso coil were used for coverage and SNR.

 

This ExamCard contains MultiVane scans of different weightings and orientations. It was developed to reduce motion artifacts in the challenging area of the neck, where TSE scans may show artifacts not only due to patient motion, but also involuntary motion due to swallowing and pulsation.

 

The ExamCard was created on an Ingenia 1.5T system on release 5.1.7 in cooperation with the ospedale SS. Antonio e Biagio e Cesare Arrigo, Alessandria, Italy.

Patient positioning and coil usage

The patient is positioned with the head in the dS Head coil. In addition, the dS Torso coil is placed on the chest to obtain good coverage and SNR. The dS Torso coil is aligned with the dS Head coil at the upper edge. Lightvisor on the chin of the patient.
