ExamCard description

This Release 4.1 ExamCard is created for scanning the pancreas with a small FOV on Ingenia 3.0T. It includes DWI, T2W TSE with fat suppression and mDIXON.
By using a small FOV in Diffusion Weighted imaging, the phase shift error in K-space is reduced, which results in less distortion in the images with optimal/high spatial resolution.
Flexible oversampling is used to avoid wrap-around artifacts of structures outside the FOV.

For all three sequences the same FOV, number of slices, slice thickness and scan orientation are used. The shim volumes used in the sequences have to be of the same size as the FOV used.

The small FOV DWI series is a high spatial resolution scan with free breathing.

The SPAIR fat suppression technique is used in the DWI to get complete fat suppression with optimal image quality. It is important to keep the SPAIR TR at 250 ms and the SPAIR inversion delay at 100 ms. The SPAIR TR is controlled by the number of slices and the TR.

Patient preparation

The patient is positioned head first and supine.
The Anterior and Posterior coil are used with SmartSelect.

The respiration sensor is used for the triggering and breath hold sequences.

Post-processing / analysis

Registration of the small FOV DWI and subsequent creation of eADC and ADC maps can be done if needed.
