ExamCard purpose

This Ingenia 3.0T Release 5 ExamCard is created for a total spine MRI exam in small children with a spine that fits within a field of view of up to 50 cm. The dS Torso coil solution is used.

This ExamCard includes an mDIXON TSE scan providing robust, homogeneous fat suppression. mDIXON TSE is most useful in patients with lesions or abnormalities in the soft tissues such as the face and neck, and for patients with contrast enhancing abnormalities that are mostly visible with fat suppression.

ExamCard overview

Total scan time is 22:18 min.
Total scan time is 22:18 min.

The first two surveys are for detailed planning of the sagittal location and the third survey is for coronal.

ExamCard images

Comparing these water-only mDIXON TSE images to T1-weighted SPIR images shows that mDIXON TSE has equal sensitivity in visualizing the important lesions. With this confidence, Dr. Miller and his team now use mDIXON TSE instead of SPIR to benefit from the reliable fat suppression of mDIXON.
