How do I know if an ExamCard is compatible with my system?

Jones, Nicola, M.Sc. Philips Healthcare • Netherlands

When you are looking for an ExamCard on NetForum, how do you know which ExamCards will be compatible with your MRI system? There are some simple rules to observe.
Before deciding to upload an ExamCard to use on your MRI system, please note that:

  • Only an ExamCard from a system with the same field strength and system type can be used to your system.
  • Some ExamCards use optional system features. These options must be present in order to run the ExamCard.
  • An ExamCard cannot be used when its software release is newer than your own scanner’s release. In other words, ExamCards are not backwards compatible.
  • However, it is typically possible to use an ExamCard from an older release on a system with a newer release, although in this case you may not benefit from improvements made over time.

Be aware:

  • An ExamCard that is not compatible with your system can be uploaded, but cannot be opened on your system. This is because the system does not read the ExamCard until you open it. At this point, discrepancies result in conflicts and the ExamCard will not run. You may also receive an error message such as:

One or more selected scans were made for a different system type. These scans were not optimized for this scanner, the results are extremely unpredictable.

Please read
the information provided with the ExamCard on NetForum prior to downloading to determine if the ExamCard is compatible with your system.
